Q: What are the minimum requirements to start driving lessons?
A: You must be at least 17 years of age before you can enrol on your a driving course.
You will also need a provisional driving licence.
Q: How can I apply for a provisional driving licence?
A: To get your provisional licence you can apply at the GOV.UK website or complete a D1 form at the post office and send it to the DVLA with your proof of identity and a passport-sized photo.
Q: Are you an ADI (Approved Driving Instructor)?
A: I am ADI approved by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA); my badge is displayed on the windscreen as proof that I’m a fully qualified driving instructor.
Q: What can I expect from you as an instructor?
A: You will have a lesson with proper instructions, well-thought techniques which you will use for years after passing. Nervous beginners are well looked after, I will teach you how to gain full control of the car to help you pass your driving test with ease. At the end of each lesson, I will give you feedback on your strengths and areas to concentrate on.
Q: What is a 1-2-1 session?
A: This means we won’t be carrying other passengers, and your lesson is catering to only your needs.
Q: Do you teach manual or automatic?
A: I teach both (limited time only)
Q: How do I book my theory test?
A: To book your theory test head over to the Gov.UK website and apply online. You will need your provisional licence and it will cost £23
Q: How do I study for the theory test?
A: I recommend reading the Highway Code at least once to understand the rules. DVSA has produced a theory test handbook which is tailored to the 50 multiple choice questions. There is a range of computer and mobile apps to test your knowledge. Put in the hours and make the most of these accessories.
Q: How long is the theory test valid?
A: It is valid for two years. If you do not pass your practical test within this period, you will need to re-take the theory test.
